While we were writing up the Cosmo Women of the year awards we couldn’t help but notice that Katie Waissel was missing from the X-Factor appearances.
A little bit of digging and we found out that she was actually ill. However it’s not been a good week for the star, who had to fight for her place in the final last week, amid rumours that she may now be leaving the X Factor after suffering a series of panic attacks.
Whilst some critics are claiming its just a cry for attention, singer has had a touch time of it recently after battling a chest infection. She also delayed the filming of the X Factor charity single – a cover of Heroes by David Bowie – by hours and had to be comforted by her parents.
We agree that the latter may be diva-ish, but despite all the rumours we’d be sad to see her go. Afterall her fashion sense has sparked off great conversation over here at ShinyStyle.
The singer started off her auditions with a big nod to Madonna’s 80s look, wearing denim shorts, a biker jacket and tights. She even copied the wild hair. All these looks have now gone on to form a staple part of her wardrobe and the star is regularly spotted wearing those jeans, which she teams up with coloured or lace tights.
She also shuns jeans, although she has been spotted in these once or twice, for baggy or high waisted trousers, which she teams up with blouses, loose fitting tops and capes… so she’s a bit of Rebecca and a little bit of Cher when it comes to her look.
However, on the stage her style is different and understandably more flamboyant. She wowed Simon and scared Louis with her highstreet take on Lady Gaga complete with a helmet, before toning it down and giving a nod to Marylin Monroe in a 50s dress complete with feathers. However last week the scarecrow hair and eyelashes were just that little bit too much and completely took away from her cute sleeved sparkly dress.
